How to Reset Tire Pressure Light

If you have just inflated your tires and your TPMS light is on, you may want to learn how to reset your tire pressure light. Resetting Your Tire Pressure Light

Once you have properly inflated your tires, that flashing tire pressure light should reset on its own. If the indicator stays on, you can follow these steps to attempt to reset the system:

• Travel for 10 minutes at or above 50 mph. This can cause your sensor to reset for the next drive.
• With the vehicle turned off, set the key to the "On" position in the ignition, but don't start the car. Hold the tire pressure monitor reset button until the TPMS light blinks three times, then release it. Start the car and allow 20 minutes to pass for the sensor to refresh. The TPMS reset button is usually located under the steering wheel. If you can't find it, consult your owner's manual.
• Inflate each tire to 3 PSI above the recommended amount, then deflate completely. Be sure to include the spare, as it may have a sensor too. Once they are all flat, you can inflate them to the proper PSI.
• When the car is off, disconnect the positive battery cable with a wrench. Turn on the car and honk the horn for 3-5 seconds. This will discharge any remaining power stored in the vehicle. Then reconnect the battery to reset the system.
